Black Russian Terriers are a type of terrier dog that belongs to the molosser dog group. They are most noted for their black coat and white markings. Some of these dogs have a broken or tan coat, but their distinguishing point is always the black and white coloring.

A powerful, strongly built black dog with a thick, wavy coat. Calm and balanced, amenable to training, distrustful of strangers, excellent watchdog, resistant to adverse weather conditions. Very attached to his handler, he is not suitable as a yard dog. He can of course spend time in the garden, but with unrestricted access to the house.
The black terrier is much more concerned with protecting people than protecting space. It rarely barks and usually pays no attention to passers-by, which does not mean that it will allow strangers to enter its territory in the absence of its owner. It always tries to scare off the intruder first, using its teeth as a last resort.

Despite its strong character, it does not tend to dominate and does not try to use its advantage over its owner. It gets along well with children and is attentive and tolerant, but due to its size it should not be left together unchecked. Despite all these qualities, care must be taken to ensure that puppies of this breed are placed in responsible hands – if badly brought up and inappropriately treated, they can grow up to be troublesome pets for those around them.
