The Keeshond is a medium-sized spitz breed with a distinctive “spectacles” marking and luxurious gray and black coat. Originally Dutch barge dogs, these companions are known for their friendly, outgoing nature and strong attachment to family. Keeshonds are intelligent, easily trained, and make excellent watchdogs without aggressive tendencies. They require moderate exercise and thrive on human companionship, often suffering from separation anxiety if left alone extensively. Their thick double coat needs regular brushing, especially during heavy shedding periods. These affectionate, social dogs make wonderful family companions.
